Can we have a button in the reply box that will wrap CODE tags around the selected text, near the QUOTE tag one that exists? When replying to question / problem posts one often needs to suggest at least one line of code, and it's a pain to add the tags manually when you do it a lot.

I'll piggyback by adding wiki markup would be a boon to those who don't use buttons at all. WML is almost standardized yet you never see forums (or blog editors) that allow it. If I knew how to make mozilla plugins I'd make one that would add this capability everywhere, but it would be cool to have it here so we could just go //this is in italics// and **this is bold** and [[this is preformatted]] and so forth...

I wonder if this is being considered or if it just went unnoticed..

I'll take a look and see if this can be implemented easy. I cant promise anything the idea behind quick reply is its a quick reply and the other method of replying has more features.

Are there any keyboard shortcuts for it? Like Ctrl B for bold Or ctrl I for Italic

Any news on this?

It appears that many users are confused when I tell them to use the forum's CODE tag please.

What buttons?

-EDIT Sorry, I forgot I set my editor to the simplest (don't know what it is called) and do not have any sort of toolbar. I type everything by hand because it is faster and easier.

Yep, I know... but we're talking about the Quick Reply box, right below every thread. It appears that many users don't use the "regular" Reply and therefore don't know about the button with the #
