Darter Ultra 3 Express Card and Smart Card Slot Question

Ok, I've got what may be a dumb question. I've got a new DU3. How do I get the dummy placeholders out of the card slots? In my experience you usually push in on them and there's a spring to pop them out. That doesn't seem to work in this case though. I looked through the manual and didn't see anything.

This is a little embarrassing to ask, but I don't want to force and perhaps break something.

Any help appreciated.

The SD dummy is soft rubber. Just grab it and pull.
The Express card dummy works like you said: depress and release.
