Hi there, I have a Dell Latitude D630 and my problem is that although all the volum levels are at maximum, I don't have enough intensity in my speakers. When I plug the headphones, the volume works perfectly, so I don't know if it is a problem of the speakers or there is some configurations I don't know
Thanks

oh have you checked if your pcm, pcm2, and front settings are on maximum??
Just right click the speaker icon on your toolbar and open volume control, and then raise any of the three you have to maximum and it will make everything much louder

Yes the setting are correct....Question: in Preferences (in speaker icon) I have selected HDA Intel (Alsa mixer) is correct that?

I've also been having fun with sound on my Dell Inspiron 1525, I have volume control above my keyboard on a panel, do you have anything like that?

When you go into preferences/sound, on each of the options (ie front, pcm etc), hit the volume up key on the keyboard, or the volume up key on your taskbar (rightclick on taskbar/add to panel if you don't have one), and increase the volume for all that way.

Yours might be slightly different as I'm running Ubuntu Studio, but the principles are the same :KS

Oh, and mine is also running the HDA Intel (Alsa mixer), which works fine

oh man I feel so stupid... anyone with a mini 9 needs to open the volume control and increase the volume on the SPEAKERS (not just master)... for some reason this is shipped at 0% by dell.
