I can't think of any and I honestly doubt there are. Very few companies are known for being linux friendly and lucasarts isn't among them. Also, any FOSS project that was too obviously based off the star wars mythos would probably run into licensing/trademark issues.

Would anyone be interested in making a sci-fi roleplaying game then?

There actually is a fan-made Star Wars game that runs under Linux:
http://www.imperialwinter.com/
It's uses the free and open source Spring engine, and it's a real time strategy game in 3D. However, it looks like they're still in beta, so you can only drool at the screenshots!

Yes there are Star Wars games for linux without wine! The excellent if old X-Wing and Tie Fighter series for dosbox :) I think there were others in that era as well (won't go into 80's coinops, but the original star wars wasn't half bad)

I have both x-wing and tie-fighter on my computer, I like to play them in dosbox. (with the joystick offcourse, you will need one to play comfortably :))

Another nice star wars game for dosbox, which I actually have on cdrom, is the first person shooter star wars: dark forces.

I haven't come across any however I am looking for some. If these amazing people here are saying there are some that will run under wine then thats great as I have just stuck Mandriva on mine and will have a Vista Virtual Machine so I can keep my games however I do want to try out wine so that should be fun but if I come across any I will let you know!
