playdeb slow

it me or is the speed from playdeb really slow?

currently downloading wolfenstein and its around the 5000 B/s.

usually i get at least 70-80 kb/s from getdeb.

getting wolfenstein from synaptic is the same speed, around 5000 b/s

playdeb has a whole bunch of mirrors, each time you download, one is chosen randomly. synaptic and the playdeb webpage are also the same thing for games in playdeb :)

I guess you ran into a slow mirror. If you keep having the problem, let me know, I'll try and find the slow mirror.

yeah I was having a similar issue, so I just manually d/l and installed. I don't know what the difference is really.

Sometimes even Ubuntu mirrors are slow as heck. I've gotten clear down to 3kb a bloody second before....So just tough it out or wait a day or so and it'll be up to speed.

Never thought I'd long for the days of my 9600 Practical Perhipherals and a BBS. ^.^

Edit: nevermind, I didn't actually. All of them are giving decent speeds... :\

FWIW today I'm getting max speed out of my DSL connection from Playdeb. Wierd.
