Just tested the app.

Installation is easy.

The interface is glitchy with compiz fusion enabled. Without compiz fusion it is fine.

It's not a bad app.

I don't think I will be using it, but if you need to watch some bbc world, euronews or something like that, it's an ok app.

Why not share a link for us, I guess your are talking about this one: http://www.livestation.com/

It reminds me of Miro, but this on streams the media while Miro downloads it via torrent.

I just stumbled across a similar app called Zattoo.

It has more and better channels, including my favorite channel, vt4.

Anyhow, I did a little piece on it on my blog.

For those that are interested:

The file you download

Livestation-2.1.0.run

Is this an installation file that will expand and put files elsewhere on your system or is it just a single binary file that runs as that one atomic file.

Thanks.

That looks like a makeinstall file, which would install the program's files to your system.

Thank you very much.
I guess my old machine can't handle it. Every time click 'run in terminal', I get past a couple of 'y' then all just vanishes away. So I start over and same thing happens, there for it doesn't even get set up

Edit: I went into my 'usr' 'bin' and clicked it open that way and it fired up.
It came on but my usual no sound with Firefox I'll work on that

I got Livestation working OK. The instructions are on the download page.

Just added Supreme Master TV to my channels.:)

Their news shows are great. They broadcast only good news. Relentless good news.

Noteworthy News (http://suprememastertelevision.com/bbs/board.php?bo_table=download&sfl=ca_name&stx=n_news&sop=and)

The sound is crackly though, something not right with the sound.

Wow this is the first program that offers live streaming no hassle, no ads. But lacks channels.

Zatoo isn't available in Australia ; (
