This may be a Mozilla question, but maybe not. I got a notice to update to a later version of Firefox (Version 2.0.0.17+1nobinonly-0ubuntu0.7.10: ), but since I have Firefox 3.01 installed is it necessary to do that?
If I choose for whatever reason not to perform an update, how can I delete the update icon and its pesty window notice? If I don't do the upgrade, it stays around and I may not notice when one comes that I do want.

The update from the repositories will not "do" anything to your Ubuntuzilla load of FF (you will need to do the "gksudo firefox &" thing in terminal and then get your update that way) .. the SECOND item, however, is a valid update for the Gnome desktop. I just did them both from the repository and then did the Ubuntuzilla update on 3 Gutsy machines without a problem. I also did the update to 3.0.2 on my two Windows machines.
Hardy's update is TO 3.0.2.
