I was wondering if it is possible to transfer programs from my XP partition and have them function, with Wine, on the Ubuntu partition? Other wise I'd have to reinstall them and update and patch and... it'd take awhile. Just curious!

well, i know with some Windows programs all you really need is what Windows calls the "Program File" that way it still has all the .dll files needed for the program to run, so it might be possible, but remember, Wine is still pretty buggy and pretty hit or miss, so some stuff might not run in Wine, but hey, it's worth a shot. hope this helps,

Phil

well, you can do it with some programs like WoW... copy the whole folder from windows, make a few registry tweaks and it runs.

That is GLORIOUS news because WoW was the very specific program that I was thinking of!
