Hello, I have looked at a few threads and the links for compatible hardware are broken (for me at least...).
I was hoping I could get some feedback on my hardware and if it will work under 8.04 Ubuntu, and if I should go with the 64-bit version or not (I have a 64-bit Vista right now, everything is fine and dandy, but I don't know how Ubuntu is with 64-bit).
So here goes:
Motherboard: AsRock Wolfdale (Nothing really special about it to list).
RAM: Kingston 2x2GB (4GB Total, Dual Channel).
CPU: Intel 8400 Core 2 Duo 3.0GHz (64-bit compatible).
Video Card: ATi RADEON HD 4850 512MB (PCI-E x16 2.0).
A regular USB mouse, a 22-in Monitor (Don't know if any of these will make it not work, but just in case) and a WACOM Bamboo Tablet.
The main thing that I need to know is that the GFX Card will work well. By well, I mean the windows won't lag and splice across the screen. I'm a visual person, and when a 200 some dollar graphics card can't be 'fully' (in the sense of works) supported then...well, it's no better than my Radeon 7000 card ;)
Not to sound like I'm not a fan of ubuntu, had it on a few comps since 5.xx:guitar:
