Blue screen with VLC and compiz

Hi,

i'm running Ubuntu 8.04 and now with VLC if I play a movie it displays mostly blue (see screenshot) if i run compiz. I can switch to metacity and it works but there should be a way to make it work in compiz, especially as it worked before.

go VLC preferences->Video->Output modules (be sure to tick the Advanced option).
then select X11. Save and restart.
