OpenOffice Write

I have a lot of notes that I took using vi - i didn't bother to keep the notes formated properly - e.g no clear paragraph separations, no space at start of paragraphs and so on.

I now need to port those notes to open office and print them in a presentable format for a friend - Is there a way in openoffice which can format the whole document on it's own ? I know you can do that in MsOffice but the last time i used MsOffice was like a million year ago.
