Has anyone goten 8.04 to work

Hi I have an emac. I am trying to get 8.04 to run on it. My problem is I install the operating system using the alternative cd and then when it finishes with no errors I boot the system. It boots fine. The splash screen loads with no errors. But after the splash screen It makes the noise to login but the screen is blank. I know this is any issue with Emacs but has anybody goten it to work or knows how to get it to work. It would be helpful if you could post your x server file and say any other changes you made to the files.
I need help badly. Have been trying to get it to work since 7.10 came out. 7.10 same problem then 8.04 same problem.

Hi,
I have an iMac g3 400 DV that I tried to install 8.04 and 7.10 on: I had the same problem. I installed 7.04 using the live cd, then I updated it through Update Manager which then gave me the option to upgrade to 7.10 ( which I did.) Then I had to update 7.10 through Update Manager then it gave me the option to upgrade to 8.04. It preserved my xorg settings and runs beautifully. Hope this helps.
