3 gigs of ram?

I noticed that the Pangolin and Darter offers 3 gigs of ram with 2 dims. How does that work? Is it just 1 stick of 2 gig and the other 1 gig? Does it affect performance if the pair does not match?

Well for me I have 2 1gb sticks and 2 512 mv sticks. of course there are so many more combinations, 2 gb +1 gb,...and uh...many more :guitar:
