View Full Version : [ubuntu] No wi fi on Acer 4315 - Ubuntu Gutsy

guys,
I need your help, I have been roaming around the internet and a lot of forums, but I have not found anything that can help me get my wi fi UP on my Ubuntu Gutsy, I am using an Acer 4315 Aspire laptop, and I cannot make it with the wireless LAN, I tried to issue a command such as ifconfig -a and it shows the following:

SOLVED:

sudo aptitude update && sudo aptitude -y install build-essential linux-headers-$(uname -r)
cd ~
wget -O driver.tar.gz http://snapshots.madwifi.org/madwifi-hal-0.10.5.6/madwifi-hal-0.10.5.6-r3861-20080903.tar.gz
tar xf driver.tar.gz
cd madwifi-*
make
sudo make install
echo ath_pci | sudo tee -a /etc/modules
sudo modprobe ath_pci
