A while back, I loaned my iBook to a friend. His sister brought it back to me. Unfortunately he was severely injured in an accident and does not even remember the comp.
My question is, since there is no way I can find to log into the system; can I replace OS X with Unbuntu the same way I can with a Windows PC?

Sure. Just make sure to snag the PowerPC version of Ubuntu.

Alternatively, Mac Observer (http://www.macobserver.com/tip/2003/06/16.1.shtml) has a helpful article on recovering a lost password.

Thanks! Both help alot, If I can't get into the iBook, I'll put Ubuntu on it. (actually may put it on anyway).
