Hello.. DO you know of any application that does this? I mean by editing rmvb files is that I want to cut specific parts of the video. I don't want to convert it first to other formats..

Please help;..

Thanks

Have a look into PiViTi, it is part of the ubuntu studio edition, apparently it can cut, copy etc, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PiTiVi

first off (and i think many will agree):

the question is not "how" but "why". editing is moslty done with raw video data, Convert the .rm or .rmvb to raw video data then edit it, when your done you can compress it with any codec you desire.

if you wish to convert .rmvb or .rm to raw video data i recommend looking though these pages:

http://www.medibuntu.org/
>> contains the codecs to decode .rm and .rmvb files,

http://www.mplayerhq.hu/design7/news.html
>> contains mencoder, and can be used to convert any video type. (with ffmpeg or codecs).

i hope this helps
