Dumb question. I just downloaded a theme, so I can change the colours and stuff. So, i just saved it in my documents for the moment, cause I can't find the theme manager?? Where is it, I know I am probably just looking right at it like an idiot.
Thanks

System --> Preferences --> Appearance.

Then drag and drop the file as it is into the "Appearance" window, to have the theme appear as a choice.

I am major newb here so please forgive me . But I do not seem to have the option for adding themes in the appearance tab that is described here . I am running 11.10 and cannot for the life of me figure out how to load a new downloaded theme .I tryed dragging the tar.gz file onto the appearance screen tab but it does n ot work.I have also tryed to find in the software download section a "theme manager" but have struck out there as well.

The information regarding installing themes via drag and drop is not applicable to 11.10 . Installing themes in 11.10 has been addressed many times , so I would suggest a forum search specific to 11,10 .

Your running gnome3 now, old commands will not always work.
