View Full Version : [ubuntu] Font question about OO equations and word

If I make an equation in MS Word in XP, save it then boot to ubuntu and open the equation in open office all is well. Then if I save again and boot to XP, and open the equation some of the fonts are sort of wrong.

If I click on the equation in XP it corrects the fonts, but it is as if OO in ubuntu is making a font substitution.

First picture is what it should look like (the formulas are meaningless of course)

Second picture is what it looks like after being opened in OO/Ubuntu, then saved, then opened in Word/XP. Note that the summation has lost its serifs and the bracket is sort of "chunky"
Any ideas.

what font are you using?
if you need to you can install the msttcorefonts package.

In OO/Ubuntu I selected the Symbol font for symbols, and times new roman for others. But I didn't seem to make much difference.

What is this font package that you refer to?

Thanks!

I reinstalled msttcorefonts but it had no effect. Problem still persists.

Thanks
