Ok, I have a VMware Server installed on my computer, and I have 2 partitions: Ubuntu and XP (well.. ubuntu have some more, but let's just take it as one).

My Idea is to boot the already installed XP, via the virtualization, in Ubuntu. Is this possible or the VM installs are not compatible with the normal install ?

It is possible, but not easy:

Another alternative is to use vmware's tool to convert a physical install into a vm. This is also not without difficulties.
