My bro offered me a Lexmark z13 printer if I can use it. I've searched but I found little info. So, I figured I'd ask here - has anyone been able to use a Lexmark z13 with ubuntu?

Lexmark is horrible about Linux support (and about their Windows and Mac support, for that matter. I warn everyone, regardless of their OS, not to purchase Lexmark products.) In Linux specifically, there are some Lexmark printers that will work if you give them enough effort, and some that just plain won't.
According to Open Printing (http://www.openprinting.org/show_printer.cgi?recnum=Lexmark-Z13_lexmark) the printer just won't work. Then again, it it's free, you can always try. Good luck.

Follow it and it may work. It worked with My X1150 all in one.

Don't go with Lexmark. HP is very well supported in Linux.
