Hi, Firefox is crashing constantly. I thought it was flash problem, but youtube works fine and paypal.com crashes before the page finshes loading. I've tried running firefox in safe mode (firefox -safe-mode), and i get the same thing. There are too many threads in the forums, I don't know which one to look at. I'm not a pro and would be really grateful for a simple answer to this problem. Please help me! I really don't want to switch back to opera, but this is impossible!
Here is my first attempt to provide relevant information:

Hardy 8.04.

Why don't you reinstall it?

There is a fix in Firefox 3.0.2. It is already released in Intrepid Ibex. The official release of Firefox 3.0.2 is 21st September 2008

Are there any specific sites that crash, like sites that have video content, or does it crash with any site?

I don't know if it will be in synaptic for Hardy Heron tomorrow, but since Firefox is used by so many Ubuntu users I think it will, but no guaranty.

Here is something for you that may help. Often Flash causes crash problems in Firefox in Hardy. You should get the latest BETA of it. Download it here: http://www.kshoster.net/?c=downloads&h=deb

Hope it helps:)

To save you're bookmarks, just drag-and-drop them from the bookmarks menu... i just hope you're bm menu doesn't takes 15 minutes to load :))

hmm...not sure what bookmarking has to do with this....
anyway, i will wait for 3.0.2 and if that doesn't fix things, i'll try update to flash beta or come back here. of course, any other suggestions welcome...thanks guys!

well there is one more thing that might help... Sometime Firefox crashes because the info loads to slow and apps on certain web pages can cause a crash.

You can take a look here: http://www.kshoster.net/?c=tipsandtricks&h=fffaster but it is not recommended because this can cause later versions of Firefox you install to not install correctly
