View Full Version : Do expired Infractions ever expire?

I was recently given a minor infraction, and rightly so -- I knew I was dancing dangerously close to the edge of the CoC when I made the post, but thought that it was just barely inside the lines. I was wrong, and I accept the infraction with no complaint.

However, I noticed that while the point allocated for the infraction has expired, the infraction notice still appears on my user account information. Should I expect this to be a permanent reminder of my minor slip, or will it eventually be removed?

expect this to be a permanent reminder

They are there permanently. Only you and staff can see them anyway.

They also serve as a track record so they can determine who the habitual violators are and have a history of their transgressions ;)

A gentle reminder which is only apparent to us (i.e. staff members). So don't worry too much about it.

Your not a real ubuntu forum poster if you haven't received any infractions. I once received an infraction for calling someone's claim on a thread "bogus". Welcome to the family!

On the contrary, learn from them.

Ok. I was more curious than concerned, anyway. Considering my stats and that this was my first infraction (and it was only worth 1 point), I don't think I have much to worry about as far as disciplinary action... :)

Not unless you do whatever you did 15 times :-)

Or do what I did twice...

Mozilla Firefox Staff Edition has a special select all button, you know :lolflag:

But seriously, the infraction is only visible by yourself and staff, and helps us keep track of a user's history in case things take a progressive turn for the worse.

We don't use them as scarlet letters against you -- they're just there for the record. Ignore them, learn from them, etc.

I'll live with "Fake Ubuntu Forum Poster" then.

I wish someone would take care of two of my infractions.

(ah hem **laroza**)

What!

Did I say something?

Old thread, but whatever...

Install R.I.P. (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/521), then right click on "Latest Infractions" and choose RIP->Remove Parent Item.
You'll never see it again with it enabled.
