I just installed Ubuntu on my Toshiba P105-S9722 and I've managed to get most things working, and now the only thing left is getting my headphone jack to work. I've played with alsa mixer and everything is turned up. There is one device, the IEC958, shown in alsa that says it's turned off. I can't turn it on though.

When I play music through the computer speakers everything works. Then when I push the headphones in part way the music stops. Once I push it all the way in then the music starts playing again through the laptop speakers, not the headphones... I'm stumped.

I've heard that this particular computer has a poorly written DSDT that linux OS have trouble with. That said I don't know how to patch a DSDT if that is required.

Anyway, I would greatly appreciate any help, or at least a hint in the right direction!

Thanks
