View Full Version : [ubuntu] wireless security issue with latest update on Hardy

I have just auto-updated to the latest patches for Hardy and now I cannot access my wireless network.

I can see the signal strenth in the NetworkManager applet 0.7.0 but where before it automatically connected to my "default" network, now I need to select the network and then I am told that "secrets are required by wireless network"

I haven't got any passwords or encryption on the wireless network. and the only option for Wireless secrity is none, which is selected by default, but the "connect" button is greyed out.

Can anyone tell me how to get this back working.

Many thanks,

To reply to myself, I managed to get onto the internet via a wired connection and updated synaptic, revealing that since the upgrade that broke my wireless connection, there had been another upgrade.

I forced this to upgrade (because it didn't trigger the auto-upgrade) and this has brought my wireless back.
