Certain tech companies seem to be raving about multi-touch monitors as the next big thing. I've always thought the mouse abstraction is better for not obscuring your view with your hand. Then I thought today what about using two mice (one in each hand)? Would it increase productivity/efficiency? Some talk of multitouch touchpads seem to be going in the right direction.

I don't see anything wrong with a mouse, or something good that a touch* can offer. Apart from `impressing' computer illiterate people. And, well, inevitably, being a useless attraction point for Windows7 (isn't it the only reason multitouch is even discussed?).

Personally I'll stick with a mouse. Maybe two mice if it's useful. Which seems like a good idea for some types of games (though I love WASD+mouse).
