Hi All,

My Kubuntu setup starts up really slow, I mean 5 times slower than my windows partition.

It takes up to 2 minutes to boot on my laptop, is there a way to speed up the start up screen?

XP fakes some things as it shows login screen without really started up system, but 5 times is still much. Have you installed a lot of daemons or similar software? Apache, ftp servers? Every one of them takes time to start and the difference can be that GNU+Linux starts more applications on boot.
