so is there some kind of Ubuntu .pkg file thats just an installer or something can i please find out?
i really want ubuntu.

As far as I know, you need to install Ubuntu from either the disk or Wubi (Installs inside Windows).

You might want to burn it in another computer, have someone burn it for you, or (dunno if itīs still possible) request it off shipit.

Yeah, I just realized that by re-reading the post.

That is another option, you can order it from here (https://shipit.ubuntu.com/) it will takes either weeks or days depending on were you live. (But you need a launchpad account to order from shipit)

Does your eMac drive even have a DVD capable drive?
Why are you trying to use a DVD?
