i do however have another problem and was wondering whether you could help me. as i said i am new to ubuntu. i installed it with windows vista using a grub menu. i have no problem entering ubuntu through the grub but i cant enter windows anymore. at first i thought that it was because i had a hard time mounting the partitions on which i had window, but i managed to force them and it still doesnt work. i have a compaq presario c700. now the thing with my computer is that it doesnt have a recovery disk. vista included it in the computer as another partition. so i had to add another partition just for the recovery. i dont know if that has something to do with my problem.
any suggestions?

i didnt use wubi. i didnt know of its existence until now. how does it set ubuntu up? does it create a grub menu?
