DX9 for wine

I've got the source and the patch file but how do i install it?

You don't install it. The way I understand, most of DX9 is already impletemented in wine, hence HL2 being able to run. Or are you talking about a wine patch for DX and compiling wine?

i added the wine repo to my apt sources and installed the latest wine (0.9.1). i was able to install, patch, and run WoW without patching anything
