I'm starting this thread as a discussion. I do not actually have a 'problem question'. Sorry if it had become a big post. I'm sorry if my bad English irritates you. English is not my native language. ;)

I recently discovered the Ubuntu Netbook Remix, when I searched for alternatives for the Xandros Linux environment on the Asus EEEpc. My wife, a windows user in the past and windows user on her work, found the Simple interface off Xandros Linux on the Asus EEE wonderfull! She didn't like it at all when I replaced this Environment with Ubuntu. On our desktop we have Ubuntu for years, but she always just want to know where 'internet' is and where she can find her 'e-mail'. I created links in the panel for her.

So I was looking for an alternative. I found the Netbook remix (http://www.canonical.com/netbooks).
I installed it (easy job) on my EEE and because my wife liked it so much I eventually also installed it on the desktop. The strange thing is that she now discovers a lot of programmes which she likes, she asked me when I installed all those games!! "It was all hidden in that terrible menu! I'm not going to look over there. Much to confusing". She said.

As a 'helpdesk person' for my entire family, I noticed before that most of the people ignore the menu/start button as much as possible. They just want me to make a link to the desktop for Word, internet, e-mail.

Final question/statement:
Why is the Netbook Remix, or something similar, not native installed on all desktop's! Linux would win a lot of lovers! =D> Especially the new one's who come from Windows. Why are so much people imitating this terrible 'windows desktop start button mistake'? This would be a breath of fresh air to them I suppose.
Do you agree? Or not?
