View Full Version : Videos seem to take over the screen?

How can I explain this?

If I play a video, anything 'underneath' (such as a clock) that keeps updating itself, flashes through the video. And the video seems to want to be 'on top' of everything so even menus are hard to access.

Has anyone experienced this? I don't seem to remember this happening in previous Ubuntu versions.

Nobody else find this annoying, or even noticed? There I am watching a DVD with all this flickering of objects that are 'underneath' the video window.

Ok. Got it. I'm using Metacity as compositing manager. This is because I'm having trouble with the nVidia drivers. But If I use them and Compiz instead of Metacity, this problem ceases.

I'm off to report the bug.
