I can't burn any CDs, which isn't good, because I'm due for my biannual backup. I haven't tried to use it since I installed hardy, so I'm hoping it's an easy fix. Thanks!

Which burning software are you using? Brasero? K3b?

Honestly, I was just trying to do the default "write to disc" option. Whatever that pulls up, I don't even know 'cause I haven't used it in so long. But the error message was "Please replace the disc in the drive with a supported disc with at least 4.7 GiB free. The following disc types are supported:"

There's no list of supported disc types. It's fairly ominous.

I will go through and see what my burning options are and try a few others.

Try using Brasero. Remember to chose CD and not DVD when burning.
