I have a Dell e1405, running Gutsy Gibbon.
When I'm listening to music through Rhythmbox (through the headphone jack), and remove the headphones, I can't use them anymore. The sound stops playing through the laptop speakers when I plug the headphones back in, but doesn't play through the headphones. Restarting doesn't do anything, neither does restarting ALSA through /etc/init.d It randomly starts working again anywhere from a few minutes to an hour or so later (I've never let it sit longer without trying to fix it).
Is there any reason why this is happening, or any way I can quick-fix or prevent it in the future?
