I'm having quite a lot of problems with firefox lately in kde 4. Sometimes it simply disappears, and I can't restart it until I restart the computer (in konsole typing "firefox" results in a "Illegal instruction (core dumped)" or a "Segmentation fault (core dumped)" message.

This happens every few hours, so it's getting really annoying (i'm currently using the Intrepid alpha, but i've had the same problem in openSUSE).

Sometimes I also get total system freezes which might or might not be connected to firefox (or amarok considering both are ALWAYS running on my system). That happens nearly every day (also had the same problem in openSUSE).

Does anyone know what could be the cause of this or what I can do about it? Thanks.

Does it happen with a fresh Firefox profile?

Does it happen with a fresh Firefox profile?

I've done a full reinstall of my system... so really it should be...

I have tried to use gtk-qt-engine, but this gave some terrible graphical glitches (especially around the tabs and scrollbar) so i'm currently using the gtk style ClearlooksClassic. No idea whether that has anything to to with it but i'll mention it...
