My computer is no longer able to browse the web. I cannot download software updates or log on to my IM with either wifi or a ethernet connection.

It's an atheros 5315, but this isn't the standard networking problem they experience - believe me, I'm well acquainted with that one - but something else altogether. At the moment the wifi is actually working - I have a 100% signal - but I cannot browse the web and I have no idea why.

It was working last time I used it.

A few factoids:

I am using Firefox.
IM services are not available either.
I tried to use synaptec - it doesn't work either.
I have tried all this in both ethernet and wifi.

If anyone can offer any suggestions, they would be much appreciated.

I had to type that out - I'm using my roommate's computer to ask for help.

That's the network we have set up in our home, being picked up as a wireless signal, which makes sense because I'm sitting right next to it.

So... anyone? I'm dying here, and now my CD burner is having issues as well - haven't used it since I swtiched to Hardy.
