its not installing or starting a game thts a problem, its when i start, after the logos the [B]game[B]closes.

i dont kno if this problem's been solved before, mabey i just didnt search thoroughly

so far ive only tried TF2 and the HL2 demo

im going to try tfc, day of defeat, and dod:source

wine: v 1.0

CPU: amd Phenom 2.3 ghz quadcore
GPU: ati Radeon 3800 graphics card
MOBO; gigabyte GA-MA770-DS3
2 gigs of ram

i really wanna play TF2 :(

id go back to windows but it got boring to me..but im still a gamer on the inside..

ive come to the conclusion that source game dont work

day of defeat: worked
team fortress classic: worked

day of defeat source: fail
team fortress 2: fail
half life 2 demo: fail

all the same way..the logos come up.. then it closes

You, of course, did bother to search the forums before posting?

If you had, you'd see that a lot of people with ATI cards seem to find the newer binary drivers to be somewhat incompatible with Wine - I think Catalyst 8.5 worked best for most people.
