View Full Version : [ubuntu] Laptop screen brightness to some default level after screen blank

I have a Lenovo x61s running Ubuntu 8.04.

My PM prefs are set to put the display to sleep after 15 minutes. I have not enabled display dimming. After waking from sleep the display is not at the previous brightness level. I usually run the display at 100% brightness, after waking it is at about 75%.

Has anyone else solved this? Any ideas where to look?

I assume this is an ACPI related function and that I can specify the brightness level to resume with someplace...

thanks!

more info:

There seems to be two stages to the screen blanking - dimming and blanking.

If I wake the screen from its dim state it will return to 100%, from blank to about 50%. I have dimming DISABLED in the power prefs...

Dimming occurs after several minutes and before complete blanking (power off the the screen?)
