I can't reccomend one, but searching through synaptics for "matlab" by "Description and Name" might come up with some results. I'm sure I have seen some there :)

Octave is a drop-in replacement (for most things). Combine with gnuplot for graph drawing.

Try Scilab ? or R ?

scilab would be a very good alternative
