Does anyone have any idea why the forums were down this morning (Eastern Time)?

The forums go down every so often due to server loads and database issues. Usually waiting about an hour will fix it.

We're currently waiting on word from Canonical (they own the servers).

Also ubuntu-geek isn't around yet, and he has direct access to the servers, so we can't really do much else yet.

This forum is like a roller coaster. It goes up and down a lot. Just came back again. The funny thing was, I could surf the forum in the ph.ubuntuforums.org website, but not login or post. Hmm... Then it comes up then when down again. :D

thats cause there are so many people coming to ubuntu that it gets overloaded :)

I thought that down time was probably caused by the removal of OMGPP. Clearly not. Not yet at least.

Usually that is announced or one gets a notice instead of a 503.
