Has anyone here attempted to get the Bryce 5 3D rendering software to work on Linux? In case anyone is wondering what Bryce is, it is a program for generating CGI landscapes. I have installed it under Wine (it's Windows software), but a lot of the controls won't work.

Yes, I am trying to learn to use Blender. However, it will still be quite a while before my knowledge of Blender reaches my years of experience with Bryce. For the time being, I would like to have both programs at my disposal.

On that note, does anyone know a good how-to book on Blender, that deals with creating landscapes (hills, mountains, forests, etc)? Most of the Blender books I've seen skip over that part.
