I have noticed that the Ubuntu/Kubuntu networkmanager lists available connections in a list when the icon is clicked. Opensuse's networkmanager doesn't do this. You have to click on "Other Connections", and actually configure a new connection when switching. Is there any way to make it act like Ubuntu's version? I also noticed that Opensuse's NM doesn't update the connection list like it should. Ubuntu's NM will almost immediately update the list of connections when a new one is available.

Have you set Network Manager to control the connection through YAST instead of ifup.

Yes, it is set to start at boot with knetworkmanager control. I was just curios about the differences in behavior between Ubuntu and Opensuse networkmanagers. I assumed they were the same app, but Opensuse's version has had to be changed to display the different behavior.
