I have denyhosts running on my server, and I have been seeing fewer script attacks in the last two weeks, has anyone else seen this?

I have little faith that the kiddies are stopping, it makes me nervous that they are trying something new.

I would love to hear what you think!

Well you asked. IMHO you are all wasting your time with stuff like denyhosts. My servers constantly get hammered, but those requests are just dropped at the (hardware) firewall. Really, most of this is automated, and if you are dumb enough to use dictionary words for user names and passwords on a production box, you probably deserve to be hacked. Seriously, logon attempts literally would scroll the screen all day long if I redirected output to the console. Sometimes I do just for kicks and it's hilarious. I think some people are way too paranoid.
