After installing fluxbuntu I recently decided to return to xubuntu. however, after making a CD, it did not work. my BIOS was correct, it works perfectly on other computers, and it kept skipping the boot of the livecd. I also tested other bootable CDs (that worked before) I had handy, and they didn't work either. Fluxbuntu does recognize the files on the disk, so my CD drive is working.

This is not an issue with the operating system you have, as booting from a CD is handled BEFORE the OS on your hard drive ever has a chance to even come into existence as anything but stored data. Check your BIOS settings, and make sure it is set to boot from CD first.

forgot common sense whilst posting, sorry.
The BIOS is correctly set, It just hasn't booted CDs since the installation.

A very odd problem.
Fluxbuntu has nothing to do with it.
Try using one of those CD's on another computer, if that computer boots there is something wrong with your hardware. If not, the CD's are all bad.

Something is strange. now whenever i boot on that computer it says:
Save to disk enabled, partition failed
Not sure what else to tell you.
EDIT:
Found the problem. cable connecting the cd drive was loose.
