what program is the best for transferring pictcures & videos from my digicam? i have fspot wich is wak picasa2 that doesnt seem to work and gimp which is too complicated. pleases helllp!!! thanks in advance

its gotta do videos too thx.....either that or where is the camera located so i can just drag and drop???

You can try gThumb. If you use Ubuntu, you will find it in the Applications -> Graphics menu.

Try gthumb for digital pictures. I like it.


sudo apt-get install gthumb

It'll show up in Graphics.

As far as video playback and editing vlc brings in good support for quicktime.

I go to synaptic and install:

vlc
vlc-nox
AND ALL vlc-plugin- EXCEPT vlc-plugin-alsa (I'm on pulse audio!)

You may need to run:


sudo apt-get -f install

To meet unmet dependencies.
