I have seen some screen shots of desktops where the terminal look like it is embedded in to the desktop. It has a transparent background and no borders. How do I do that?
How do you move the window around if ti has no borders?
Thanks

Rather than install new software just use whats already there, compiz can do the job.
Check out the explanation here http://www.ubuntu-unleashed.com/2007/08/howto-completely-transparent-shell-on.html

It sucks having it set up that way.
Really not worth it unless you know exactly what you're doing.

I find my self using the terminal so much I thought it would be nice. I tried the Compiz way, but when I fill in Windows Decoration > Decorate Windows with title=term, the border disappears for all my windows. Don't know why.
Thanks

i think that the devilspie set up is pretty easy, especially since everyone doesn't always have compiz turned on.

the only thing that can get a little tricky is the geometry section.

I dont know about taking the windows borders off, but my favorite way to run my terminal is with a transparent background. I believe it is either under file or edit in the terminal there is an option called profiles. There you can edit the color and font of the text, the background color, opacity, and a ton of other things. Not sure if its what youre looking for but its a suggestion. :)

the only thing that can get a little tricky is the geometry section.

You just leave everything as is except the dimensions (he has 924x668). And for that, you just subtract 100 from your screen res.

you could also try Yakuake, it looks pretty snazzy.
