Currently for my bachelors program they make us take stats. Im curious to know if there are any applications that I should know about that can help me in my class. Any one know of any ?

The only thing that comes to mind is QtiPlot.

I've never really had a need to use it but I've had a few people tell my its useful.

If you need graphs you can use GnuPlot:

http://www.gnuplot.info

It's nice if you are aggregating lots of data you can make a simple script to automate the creation of graphs.

I've used R for a statistics paper. The package is r-recommended. It's a command line application and there's a bit of a learning curve but it's is very powerful. I think there are guis available for it like rkward.
