I am trying to install lexmark drivers to start using my lexmark X1150 in ubuntu. I am trying to follow the instructions using this post. http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=49714&highlight=installing+lexmark+printers and am not having any luck.
Here is my question. Do I need to have my printer plugged in to the USB port while I am trying to load the drivers, or do you load drivers then plug in the printer?

I would think that you'd need to plug in the printer via USB and the let UB detect it and load drivers. Try going to System -> Administration -> Printing and see if it appears after you plug it in. If not then try installing a new local printer and see if it detects it then.

Let me know if that helped,
