For some reason my MS wireless keyboard has stopped working. The keyboard is bundled with a mouse, but the mouse works just fine. I thought the keyboard had died so I replaced it with a Logitech 3200 wireless keyboard/mouse bundle and the same thing is happening so I think that it is something else. I cannot drop down into command line because I need keyboard functionality to do that.

I am using Mythbuntu 8.04-1 and I understand that the xorg.conf file is no longer used. How do I troubleshoot the keyboard connection for the desktop if xorg.conf is no longer used? What has taken its place. By the way, I can see the keyboard being loaded and identified correctly as the machine boots up and I can SSH into the machine from another machine to make changes.

Issue turned out to have nothing to do with Ubuntu. It was a hardware issue and mostly between the chair and the keyboard. The keyboard has a button to reset the channel, which I did not know was there. I used the button and the wireless keyboard/mouse combo works like a dream. ARRGGHHH!
