Has anybody considered building an ALSA search utility to deal with Sound Card Issues? I know this sound's dumb, but, following Lord Raidon's advice I looked up ALSA http://www.alsa-project.org/alsa-doc/ but for the life of me could not manage to navigate through the extremely technical data with no search interface.
All I am looking for is the ALSA associations for 440LX/EX - 82443LX/EX or 82371AB/EB/MB PIIX4 ISA so that I can get an old onboard soundchip to interface with Ubuntu Dapper.
Its no big deal, but the sound works great in GoblinX, but who wants to run a Demon Machine when you can have an Ubuntu Community?
Expect that somebody will create a tomboy notes-like utility for this kind of thing, so we don't lose half the community who can't afford to upgrade continually.
