I am trying to clone my original HS from my serp4 onto my new 320gb hd i got, but I'm running into problems. I'm using an USB to SATA/IDE device to connect my new drive but it isn't being detected by ubuntu, ghost for linux, or UBCD4Win. I only see one SATA slot in my laptop, so how can I get both hooked up so I can transfer my data to my new drive?
I have tried swapping the drives locations and when I do, whichever one is on the USB to SATA is not detected. I tried to look things up on if it didn't really see the device, but it lists the external drive as an SCSI when connected and nautilus shows a "usb drive" but it cannot mount and using the mount command says "unable to read /dev/sdb".
